Akiba Atmosphere: Remote Learning Plan
Updated: Mar 17, 2020
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Akiba-Schechter Atmosphere Jewish Day School and Early Childhood program! This is our plan for learning remotely and is a magical school in the stratosphere that will be open for all our Akiba students. At Akiba Atmosphere, children will be learning, having fun and connecting with their friends and teachers online while our building on Earth is closed. Each school day, they will connect to satellites around the world to reach their friends and teachers!
Today all Grade School children will be getting their personalized Akiba Atmosphere schedules for their learning journey that lies ahead. Preschool families will also get a communication with the Preschool schedule.
Tomorrow children will have a test flight (Orientation Day) where they will meet with their teachers online via ZOOM, find out more about what learning will look like at Akiba Atmosphere and see if they have any technical issues that need to be resolved. That information will be coming today as well.
Wednesday is launch day! On launch day children begin their first day at Akiba Atmosphere.
Tomorrow we plan on launching an Akiba Atmosphere website for parents as a single place for updates, school communications, tips, expectations, etc. as we go on this journey together. We will send you that site as soon as it is live. We look forward to learning with you over the next days and weeks. See you in the Atmosphere!
Sincerely,
Dr. Eliezer Jones Miriam Kass Carla Goldberg Head of School Grade School Principal Early Childhood Director
