Atmosphere Updates (4/1/20)

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

Dear Parents and Staff,  What we had wished was an April fools joke, although we were confident it was coming, the current executive order for school closures in Illinois is now through April 30th. We have been prepared for an extended closure and are working daily on ensuring Akiba Atmosphere remains sustainable and meaningful.  In light of it being April Fools day though, we have added a new page to the Akiba Atmosphere that now hosts the daily Dad Jokes said at grade school announcements. We hope they give you the same groaned joy it gives the students and staff. We have also added a Student Art Gallery with art created in the classes and clubs run by our very own Dara Henning. Lastly, for today's update, we added to our Family Resources page an inspirational talk Rabbi Jonathan Sacks gave to Jewish educators around the globe yesterday through PRIZMAH. We hope these provide some more joy, inspiration and meaningful distraction.  Akiba Atmosphere Site Updates:
  • Click here for the new Dad jokes page updated regularly.

  • Click here for the new Student Art Gallery updated regularly.

  • Click here for the direct link to the Rabbi Sacks talk.

  • Don't forget you need the password (sent via email) to access the Schedules and ZOOM Links menu under "Support."

Keep safe, healthy and keep soaring in the Akiba Atmosphere! Sincerely,  Dr. Eliezer Jones               Miriam Kass                    Carla Goldberg  Head of School         Grade School Principal     Early Childhood Director
