Atmosphere Update 3/25/20

Dear Parents and Staff,  Good morning! We hope this update finds you well. As we settle into our routines and find solace in the growing structure of Akiba Atmosphere, we know this is still challenging and at times exhausting. We encourage all children, parents and staff to find ways to get outside, play and find those moments together to relax. We will continue to not only provide you with the best Akiba Atmospherelearning experience possible, but will continue to update the Family Resources page on the site to help make out of school time more manageable.  Akiba Atmosphere Site Updates: We have added three new sections to the Family Resources page. A  "Virtual Trips and Tours", "Online and Audio Books", and a "STEAM" section. We have also added a family friendly Jewish comedy website ( in the "Jewish Edutainment'' section and added two new articles in the Parent Self-Care section:

If you have Disney + "The Imagineering Story" is a wonderful show about creativity and imagination behind the scenes of Disney. Click here for a trailer of the showAkiba Atmosphere School Updates:

  • Don't forget the PTO BYO happy hour tonight, 3/25, at 9pm! Grab your herbal tea, wine, cocktail, or mocktail of choice and crank up the old Zoom to chat with us! Terren Wein will be our gracious Zoom host so you know you are in the right room.  Click here to join at that time.

  • We will be having our whole Grade School Hallel on Rosh Chodesh this Thursday at 9am. 3rd/4th graders should stay in their Davening Zoom room and everyone else can click here at 9am if you are not already in Tefillah. Rabbi David Wokenfeld of Anshe Sholom Synagogue will be our guest to speak to the children after Hallel. Donuts are at the discretion of the parents.

  • Early Childhood has added PE for Kindergarten on Thursday and a Challah Baking event on Friday. Click here to see the Early Childhood schedule

  • We have begun a deep clean of the Akiba building from top to bottom and every surface in between.  This includes lockers and cubbies as well. All lockers/cubbies will be emptied so that they can be cleaned and sanitized.  The contents will be put in individual sealed bags and labeled. Your children will find their locker contents well taken care of upon their return and be able to put them in their lockers/cubbies when school resumes.

  • Don't forget you need the password (in email sent) to access the Schedules and ZOOM Links menu under "Support."

Keep safe, healthy and keep soaring in the Akiba Atmosphere!  Sincerely,
